Silk Road Fibers, Straw Silk Variegated

Description

This thread is 100% silk and is woven into a ribbon which is hand dyed.  It’s about 1/16″ wide.  There are 11.1 yards per skein.  I have used this thread as is and it is a delight to stitch with and I usually use a laying tool.  You can also use it as is for wonderful straw, sticks, hair, etc.   The inset picture shows how I used it for a nest. Some people like to iron it first (using a mini hair straightening iron).   There are over 100 colors and more are added every year.   The colors on this page are variegated.   Dye lots do vary so be sure to order enough for your project.  See the colors up close here.  Also see the solid color Straw Silk which is here.
